we’re not in athens anymore

March 2, 2010

dorothy, one of my oldest friends from chicago, came to visit from athens, georgia the week before my birthday. it was just like old times, us being bored together! except now we’re a little older and fatter (but not THAT much fatter) and it really wasn’t that boring (i hope!). sorry d, i had to make a wizard of oz reference in the title for old time’s sake. it only makes sense! come back soon!!! here’s what we did:

gallavanted all over the city; rode the trolley to fisherman’s wharf; ogled the last remaining sea lions (they’re not here this year, wtf?); took the ferry to sausalito and climbed around the muir woods, rodeo beach, and mt. tam with kevin; walked the zillion steps in north beach up to coit tower…

…danced to oldies at the knockout to celebrate my birth; danced to various gwen stefani hits in my kitchen; brunched on vegan breakfast burritos; made homemade pizzas!; combed the mission’s thrift racks; and enjoyed the skyline from the top of “the view” bar at the mariott. nerds!

we also got a lot of good shots for our album cover:

photos by yours truly and kevin perry.
