we’re so bombarded by logos and advertising in our daily lives that it’s easy to dismiss or take certain images for granted. but a closer look some of the logos we have seen over and over again- those of UPS, IBM, ABC, or ENRON- reveals the masterful work of paul rand, a graphic designer whose designs in the 1950s and 1960s revolutionized branding and logo design. in addition to his corporate work, he also designed all kinds of posters, book covers, packaging, even textiles and children’s books! here’s a look at some of his work over the years.

“Don’t try to be original; just try to be good.”
