With the mountains of terrible shit we see on tv, hear on the radio, and read in the paper, it’s rare for me to be compelled by anything to take a stand or fight for change because everything pisses me off! But yesterday, after reading Roberta Smith’s cry for help in the New York Times to save the faltering American Folk Art Museum, I felt that it was my duty as a supporter of art, museums, folk art, and just as an American, to do something. So I wrote a petition to support the Museum and to stop its incredible collection of rich American heritage from being dismantled!
And spread the word to friends, family, via Facebook, Twitter, whatever! If the article itself can go viral, there’s no reason that the petition shouldn’t!
New Yorkers & visitors, go check out their current space at Lincoln Center, and everyone else, just hope that next time you’re in New York you’ll be able to see this all in one place!
