kids rule at art

November 16, 2011

i dont know how i stumbled upon art: expression of imagination, but it’s my new favorite. it’s a chronicle of one art teacher’s classroom projects and her students’ super colorful and creative work. she bases a lot of her lessons around a specific artist or work- matisse, van gogh, paul klee, modigliani- and has the kids work on their own piece in a similar style. it’s nothing radical, but is still such a great way to make kids aware of line, form, color, and art history all in one! i love seeing all the different interpretations of the pieces through the eyes of kindergarten through 6th graders!

There is an on line art gallery for kids! You can upload your kid’s artwork, they feel on top of the world when they see that! There is awesome work there too. I posted about it on:
