“the quiet courage of dying without killing”

January 16, 2012

there are a lot of words that come to mind when i think about martin luther king: dreams, civil rights, anti-war, non-violence, PEACE! whether or not you believe in the conspiracy theories surrounding his assassination (that the mafia & government killed him….), his death was a blow all of us. in april 1968, the world mourned the loss of a figure who fought so passionately, with his entire life, to achieve rights for the african american community, the poor, the worker, the minority, and to create a brighter future for the nation in general.

in the spirit of dr. martin luther king, jr., WE must claim our responsibility for the future of our children and grandchildren. WE must fight the powers that restrict our rights and our freedoms. WE must continue to dream and believe that change is possible. today i remember a great man who encouraged us to fight with the strongest of all weapons- peace.
