It’s gotten cold in Mexico City this week, I pulled out my winter coat and scarves, boots. In a week I am moving back to Chicago after almost a year here in Mexico (minus a few months away). This return marks 10 years away from the city I grew up in, a city I have always loved, repped, praised. But now it’s offering me the opportunity to explore and rediscover it in a completely new context and I couldn’t be happier.
This week’s cold spell and Paul D’Amato‘s images of Pilsen (my new neighborhood which also happens to be un barrio mexicano) are the perfect segue into this new chapter. I hope Life will be a mix of Mexico, the US, my hometown and yet an absolutely foreign place. Does this mean I have to be a Sox fan? Mexico, you have treated me well and I will see you soon. But for now, see you on the other side, friends!
